Thousands of hours are spent unproductively every Friday. The idea of Social Friday is to create an opportunity for companies, organizations, and universities to team up and to commit on four Fridays each to social engagement and make a positive change in the society.

Why Friday ?

What if we used these inefficient Friday afternoons to display our social responsibility?

Friday is the least productive day of the week. Towards the end of the working week people are no longer fully focused. The enthusiasm for work drops sharply, especially after 2 p.m.

Each year we set four Fridays (quarterly) when organizations, companies and volunteers across the world team up to simultaneously host activities in their own community. Whether it’s preparing food for the homeless, planting trees in the neighborhood or helping the local dog shelter, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.

Why four
times a
year? 

The needy need support and attention throughout the whole year, not just before the holiday season.
When we commit to doing good at regular intervals, and we repeat that again and again, it turns into
our habit. By committing ourselves to four annual dates of organized engagement in our community, we
can transform the corporate cycle of creating quarterly reports into cycle of acts of generosity. 
That is the only way social awareness can develop in corporate culture and establish self-sustainability.

  • To challenge and to question the status quo of the way we use the least productive time.
  • To generate more social awareness in our communities, drive community building, knowledge sharing and networking, overcome mutual issues, and spend Fridays in a more meaningful way.
