Join the world’s first Global Social Friday
On Friday, August 28, 2020, hundreds of companies and organizations from around the world will unite with one common mission: to donate their Friday afternoon to a social cause in their respective communities.
20+ countries.
100+ companies.
One Friday afternoon.
Fact: Friday is the least productive day of the week*
One day, we thought:
What if we used those wasted Friday office hours to do something good for the community?
A few months later, the first Social Friday was born. Social Friday was our ritual to get out of the office early on Fridays and volunteer for a local social cause.

Going Global!
After some time, we started to wonder: Why don’t we get others to do this too?
That’s when we decided to make Social Friday a global event and set out on a mission to invite companies (and universities) from around the world to join us on August 28th to volunteer in their respective communities.
FAQs
It’s a common misconception that you sign up to “join an event”. You don’t join an event; instead, you become an event host. And by doing so you join a community of other hosts, all taking action on the same date – each hosting an activity in their respective community.
Every company and organization that is interested in being a part of this global event, must fill out the host form below.
Companies, organizations or public institutions (of all sizes) can organize a Social Friday activity. All interested, must fill out our registration form below and enroll to become a host. We will contact you with further details via email.
No! There are no application fees or ongoing membership fees. The costs of your own Social Friday will vary based on your activity. From our past experience, you shouldn’t have to spend a lot of resources to host an activity.
If cost is a major factor for your team, try to think of inexpensive ways you can volunteer. If you need help getting started, please reach out to us and someone from our team will assist you.
- You must start the activity before 3 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 – the main idea is that we turn those unproductive Friday hours into social good.
- Let the employees engage in the activity during paid hours (no overtime).
- Try to involve the senior management as participants.
We are totally independent. Not in any way are we associated with a religious or political group.
