Today Is The Perfect Day To Get Epic Things Done

Today is June 24th, 2022. This is the day we’ve been all waiting for, the day when companies, nonprofit organizations, and volunteers across the globe get together to celebrate social engagement and togetherness, build communities, create partnerships, raise questions, tackle important issues, and challenge the status quo of unproductive time.

Today is Social Friday 2Q22.

The motto

Have you ever felt a rush after doing a good deed? Ever noticed you were more relaxed after a day of volunteering? Did you ever feel motivated to do good after thinking about the last time you helped someone? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, there’s a good explanation – it’s called science.

According to a 2013 study examining the relationship between volunteering and hypertension, giving back can have a significant impact on blood pressure. Researchers found that adults over 50 who volunteered about four hours a week decreased the chances of developing hypertension by 40%, compared to non-volunteers.

And that’s not all. There are even more benefits that you can enjoy from doing good:

  • It makes you feel better
  • It makes you happier at work
  • It improves your mental health
  • It motivates you to do it again.

Every Social Friday is organized under a certain motto that promotes the engagement of all community heroes across the globe hosting events simultaneously. This Social Friday’s motto is “Feel the power of doing good.”

Why do we do it?

We know that Friday is the least productive day of the week. Towards the end of the working week, people are no longer fully focused. The enthusiasm for work drops sharply, especially after 2 p.m. We’re not pointing the finger at anyone, here. Nobody is immune to the Friday afternoon mood.

But, we want to challenge the status quo of unproductive time. We want to use these inefficient Friday afternoons to create something… well, something extraordinary. The idea of Social Friday is to create a common ground for organizations, companies and volunteers across the world to collaborate and simultaneously host social activities in their community.

On Social Friday events people make bonds, create partnerships and friendships, overcome mutual issues, build better communities, and spend Fridays in a more meaningful way.

On these occasions, so much positive energy is created, crucial questions are generated, and answers and solutions are found. Without them, nothing can change.

We organize Social Friday events four times a year to celebrate our social commitment, raise awareness, and build stronger communities. We do it because we believe in a better world, we do it because we want to help, and finally, we do it because it feels good.

Why companies do it?

Corporate social responsibility improves the business’ efficiency, increases customer loyalty, and improves workplace well-being for the employees.

The purchasing perspective of Millennials and Gen Z, the new driving force of the economy, has shifted consumer focus to social responsibility. Financial performance is no longer the deciding factor when customers choose which brand they want to engage with. In this new era of social engagement, customers want to identify with the brand’s values before they buy from it, or use its service.

Companies hosting Social Friday events:

  • Boost their team’s spirit
  • Build customer loyalty
  • Give back to the community
  • Show their brand’s ethical values.

Why nonprofits do it?

Nonprofit organizations are invaluable for their work to build better communities. But, there’s only so much anyone can do alone. However, when we join forces, increase the workforce, and when we believe that nothing is impossible, then we can change the world together.

NPOs hosting Social Friday events:

  • Increase the visibility of their mission
  • Drive more donations
  • Gain long-term support
  • Raise awareness.

Why students do it?

Volunteering for a local social cause can help students achieve more, contribute, learn 21st-century skills, and develop their sense of altruism. College life is the time when young people have the highest level of energy. An energy that can do a lot of good and can bring a positive change to the community, society, and the whole world.

Students who volunteer on Social Friday events:

  • Learn new skills
  • Make connections
  • Boost their resume
  • Improve their job prospects.
